SPOTLIGHT: A Thift Store Loft

Well, my best friend Haylee (a.k.a. Hales Bales) is living in her first little home! She is the cutest little blondie cakes, and she is a very talented artist. Her home shows her artsy side for sure.

We had often dreamed about how we would decorate once one of us had our own place, and I can't believe the time has come for Ole Hales. Her and I share a deep love for thrift stores, and finding great pleasure in thinking up ways to use unique items in decor.

I'm ashamed to say that one time, when we DID NOT have our own place, Haylee and I bought a whole kitchen's worth of dishes and decor. For no other reason than simply the thrill..

Here's some shots of Bales house.. Happy Wednesday!

Fun Extras.

There are always those few "staple items" you find yourself incorporating into almost every outfit you put together...(I am notorious for this). Every once in awhile it's nice to buy something extra, something people aren't expecting.

For examples I have these four items here. All of them inexpensive, found at a thrift store or consignment store over the last 6 months (except for the nail polish).

*The cream lace slip (top left) is something I like to wear, under my summer dresses, to add a little peek-a-boo lacie surprise.

*When decorating my work space, I found this gorgeous clean white "A" (top right). It's a bold statement on my desk, and somehow inspires me to get that paper done. Purchased for $5 at a thrift store. Spice up your dorm room!

*The O.P.I nail polish was on sale for $3.00. I thought I could spring for this lovely shade called "Skull and Gloss Bones". It's a simple blue gray that goes with almost everything. It's not a typical neutral color for your nails, so it really makes a statement.

*Last but not least! BLOOMERS!(bottom right) Girls, if you do not have a pair of bloomers you are missing out on feeling like a doll face pajamas! Put those little babies under any skirt you think might be too short, or any skirt in general, and you can make any outfit look 100 times better. Mine was found at a consignment store for $20, but it's such a beloved item I would recommend getting your hands on one anyway possible. Google bloomers. WORTH IT!

Happy Tuesday!

KWLD 91.5

My show "PageView" starts this coming Monday at 2:30 p.m.! It is the first show of the year! We will be discussing Fashion, Music, and Cooking. What more could you want?!

Make sure to tune into 91.5 FM, and call in if you can. I would love to hear from you!

I did some back to school shopping this weekend and found these treasures. Not too high of a heel, so they're comfortable to walk to class in. So important. I'm not one of those girls who sacrifices pain for beauty! Happy Monday!
